Voices From Violence by Calvin E.J. Wilson

AVAILABLE SOON
This is not your traditional book. It is not very long and except for the two children Sarah-Jane and Ryan, as well as Susan, Jemimah and Karen in the refuge, all the main characters are nameless and faceless. The voices in this story could be the voices of any of us, as we endure brutal, physical, and psychological violence in the “safe” spaces wherever we call home. The journey of the central character is painful yet hopeful as she navigates the emotional twists and turns and links all the other voices as they speak of their experiences and reveal their suffering. This is the story of one woman as she walks the road to healing herself. My hope is that the power of one can act as the catalyst for a conversation with yourself, your partner, your family, your friends, in the workplace, with the government, across the nation, the region and across the world. This is a book for everyone, for sensitization and self- empowerment. So read, feel, reflect, and act.
